Striving for excellence is a daily pursuit for students and staff at Jasper High School. Students have ample opportunities to enroll in courses that prepare them for college, skilled labor, and the work force. JHS offers twelve Advanced Placement courses, including Calculus, Physics, Spanish, English (Language and Literature), and World History to name a few.

We also offer a Health Occupations course that allows students to observe and collaborate with medical services providers in their workplaces. Numerous internship opportunities provide another way students can experience professionals as they work which gives students insight into whether they may desire to pursue an area of study or perhaps go in a different direction. Vocational opportunities are plentiful as well. Many students take advantage of the hands-on classes that prepare for skilled labor. Examples include welding, precision machining, criminal justice, auto mechanics and radio/tv to name a few. By the way, we have our own radio station, 93.7 The Scratch.

JHS also offers ICE which allows students to spend part of their school day in the workforce situating themselves for an early start to a career, earning money to help pay for college, or possibly providing some financial assistance for their family.

An abundance of extra-curricular opportunities are available to enhance students’ high school experience. Whether one’s interest is in sports, music, theater, service, or other clubs, JHS has much to offer. We encourage students to be active as this will assist in the development of discipline, work ethic, time management, and lifelong relationships. Excellence has been demonstrated by the state championships earned in baseball, football, tennis, basketball, cheerleading, and marching band.

Yes, we work hard to provide students with their home away from home for four years. It is our desire to partner with families to support the development of students. If you want to learn more about JHS or simply want to keep up with what is happening, download our App for you mobile device.

Yours in education,
