Library Media Center
Mission: Believing that the Library Media Center (LMC) is a fundamental part of the educational program of Tenth Street Elementary, the Mission of this LMC is to encourage, promote, and assist students of Tenth Street so they can be effective and discriminating users of ideas and information, to foster the habit and love of reading and use of a library for lifelong learning.
Our Collection: The Library Media Center collection includes 10,000+ books and other resources. To recommend a new title for the collection, please email or speak with Mrs. Gossett.
Volunteers: Our parent volunteers are invaluable to our library program. Here are some of the things you could help with in the library: collecting the books due each day, checking in books, re-shelving books, helping with class check out, organizing books on shelves, and helping put up/take down bulletin board materials. If you would like to volunteer in the library please contact Mrs. Gossett or let someone know in the office. We would love your help!
Schedule: All Tenth Street students visit the Library Media Center for 25 minutes twice a week. During each visit students participate in information literacy lessons and book check out. Further use of the Library Media Center is encouraged on an as needed basis during lessons and units that incorporate research and information literacy skills. To schedule your class for use of the Library Media Center, please email or speak with Mrs. Gossett.
